Jerry Springer would say be good to yourselves and each other

Or #Normalserviceshouldberesumednextweek

This week’s Fiskal Policy is a break from the norm – with ‘norm’ meaning trying to channel the best pop culture content during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the first lockdown I discovered Community (remember those heady early-summer days in 2020).

Then as the restrictions eased there was comedy in Sydenham/ Catford borders, Andy Warhol at Tate Modern and a 10k race.

But now with much of the UK in lockdown three I am unlikely to leave my home unless it is to run or put the bins out (never at the same time).

This means I’ve got a list of TV shows to watch as long as your arm but have had so many things going on so haven’t got started on any of them.

So instead of suggesting something great for you to watch or (hopefully in the future) suggesting a great place to go, this week I’m channelling my inner Jerry Springer.

I miss the days of the Jerry Springer Show – it was a simpler time

As he used to say in the olden days “Be good to yourselves and each other”.

Tomorrow is officially (as official as made up days can be) Blue Monday which is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year (supposedly according to people who made it up).

But, no matter what day it is when you read this, take some time for yourself, go outside, wear a mask and just take each day as it comes.

And never forget that help is available links to the Samaritans and the Campaign for Living Miserably are here.

Stay safe for another week!
