Chances are you will hear All I Want For Christmas is You more than a million times during this festive season and there’s nothing wrong with Mariah Carey. (Indeed I have some happy memories from when it came out in 1994.)

But with Christmas party season officially kicking off on Thursday (December 2), because that’s when my first event is taking place, there is a need to dazzle your friends with your choices of great party tunes without those being the ones you will hear in the shops.

Luckily Fiskal Policy is on hand with a playlist featuring great tunes to kick your night off with – then some Christmassy stuff to take it down a notch and encourage your guests to make like a tree.

(You’ll have to fill in the gaps between the two sections yourself – depending on how long you want your party to last.)

There are some great tracks for you to enjoy including DJ Lilly Palmer (these days I spend most of my life listening to Lilly’s sets) and an oldie but goodie from Lauren Laverne (in the days before she made 15-year-old me sad and 42-year-old me sad).
